At Silver Star Communications, we believe in the power of connection—both in terms of broadband access and our relationships within the communities we serve. This August, we were thrilled to host two pivotal events—Jackson Connects on August 13 and Rexburg Connects on August 12—where we had the opportunity to share exciting updates on our ongoing fiber network projects and engage with local leaders and residents.
Jackson Connects: A New Era for Broadband in Wyoming
Held at Cottonwood Park, the Jackson Connects event was a significant milestone for both the City of Jackson and the State of Wyoming. The event featured inspiring talks from Wyoming House Speaker Albert Sommers, Jackson Mayor Hailey Morton Levison, and U.S. Senator John Barrasso, with special video messages from Senator Cynthia Lummis and Governor Mark Gordon.
Attendees were given an in-depth update on the progress of our Silverlight open access fiber network, which is already transforming the way Jackson connects to the digital world. This initiative is set to bring faster, more reliable internet to the area, offering multiple service providers to ensure competitive choices, affordability, and better overall value.
The event showcased the tangible benefits of the network for residents and businesses alike. It was a pleasure to see so many community members and stakeholders come together to discuss the future of broadband in Jackson.
Rexburg Connects: Building the Future of Digital Connectivity in Idaho
Over in Idaho, Rexburg Connects took place at Evergreen Park, bringing together community leaders and residents to discuss the significant advancements in Rexburg’s digital infrastructure. We were honored to have Idaho Office of Broadband Project Manager Kim Glineski and Rexburg Mayor Jerry Merrill as our guest speakers, who both emphasized the importance of this project for the city’s future.
The Lightbridge open access network allows multiple providers to use the same infrastructure, reducing costs, increasing competition, and ensuring that residents have more choices for their internet service. The network features four providers: ConnectFast, Intellipop, Altitude Fiber, and Direct Communications. With mainline construction already underway, every home and business in Rexburg will have the opportunity to connect to this state-of-the-art network.
Looking Ahead
Both events were not only a celebration of the progress we’ve made but also a reflection of our commitment to the communities we serve. As we continue to build and expand our fiber networks, we remain dedicated to enhancing digital access and ensuring that our customers enjoy the highest quality internet service.
We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the Jackson Connects and Rexburg Connects events. Your support and engagement are vital to the success of these projects, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you.
Stay tuned for more updates as we bring even more communities into the future of digital connectivity with Silver Star Communications.
