Our new mission statement is to “Enrich lives through exceptional customer experiences and innovative uses of technology”, and our TV service has not been an exceptional experience for our customers. Therefore, as of December 30th, 2019, Silver Star will be discontinuing all TV service offerings in all serving areas. No other services are being affected and all retail locations will remain open.

Silver Star has determined that it is unable to provide a quality TV service at reasonable price. With a newly established mission to “Enrich lives through exceptional customer experiences and innovative uses of technology”, Silver Star doesn’t feel that its TV offerings stand up to the company’s goal of providing an exceptional experience.

Outside of the satellite providers which tend to be more expensive over time, there are many streaming options available by using devices such as a Roku device or an Amazon Fire TV Stick. Silver Star would be happy to help you understand the options and how they work.

Yes. There are several streaming options available through other companies such as YouTube TV or Hulu, to name a couple. Alternatively, you can install an antenna depending on your location to try and access the local channels. Of course, there are the satellite options as well.

If you choose to go with a satellite provider or an antenna, you won’t be affected. Should you choose a streaming television option, your best experience will be with a higher bandwidth internet connection. Silver Star can help you to evaluate the best option available at your location.

Yes. Silver Star is still providing internet services even though the television service is going away. Silver Star can help you to evaluate the best option available based on your needs and location.

If you plan on streaming television, you’ll either need a smart TV which would include the streaming application (YouTube TV for example) or a streaming (player) device such a Roku, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV or a Google Chromecast.  Most of these devices require an HDMI port which newer smart TVs have. While newer smart TVs offer advantages such several HDMI ports and a higher definition viewing experience, you can purchase a HDMI converter to connect your player to an older model television using your TV’s audio and video cable connections, usually located on the back of your television.
