Spreading the love with the Afton Food Pantry on Valentine’s Day!

What better way to spend Valentine’s day than spreading love through community service!?

The Afton Food Pantry, in conjunction with Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies, hosted a mobile food pantry at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Afton, WY on Valentine’s Day. Their mission was to provide local residents from Cokeville to Alpine with free food to those who could use a little extra.

We were invited to help the Afton Food Pantry in their efforts.

Through a two-part project, our Afton and Thayne community service teams volunteered their time to assist in the event by unloading a semi truck full of food, unpacking pallets, sorting and setting up food for distribution, and bagging food for pick up. They also offered elderly and disabled patrons help out to their cars when needed.

The result… 4,800 pounds of food found its way into over 150 homes through the mobile pantry!

Congratulations to the Afton Food Pantry for hosting such a successful and generous event on the day of love – Valentine’s Day! We were honored to be a part of it!
