Serving up “Summer Food & Fun” with NLCECC
This summer, one of Silver Star’s Caring for Community grant recipients, the North Lincoln County Early Childhood Coalition launched their summer food service program – “Summer Food & Fun.” The program provides Star Valley youth with free breakfast and/or lunch at various schools and libraries throughout the valley during June and July.
The program relies heavily on volunteers to greet and welcome the kids, help with activities, serve food, keep track of how many meals are served, and assist with clean-up.
Silver Star’s Community Service Team #14 – consisting of Sandra Morley, Evelyn Offret, Jennifer Hamp, Jason Jenkins and Rhett Hurd – joined the summer fun and helped out at both the Etna Elementary School and Star Valley Junior High!
Community Service at Silver Star
Silver Star encourages all team members to take part in a group community service project on company time. We aim for 100% employee participation. Silver Star believes it is important to support the organizations that help to enhance quality of life in our community.
