Silver Star delivers Online Safety & Awareness presentation to Soda Springs students
A recent article in the Caribou County Sun reported that internet crimes are up 300% in the Eastern Idaho community of Soda Springs, many of them involving minors.
As an internet provider and community partner in the Soda Springs area, Silver Star feels it is necessary to do what we can to help shed some light and education on this issue.
Throughout April, Silver Star’s Soda Springs Community Service Team worked with the Soda Springs Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), to assemble an online safety and awareness presentation to be shared with local school-age youths. This team consisted of Megan Harris, Dale Deno, and Ty Bunn.
On May 8th, through their hard work and diligence, the community service team was able to present “Online Safety and Awareness” to students at Soda Springs High School and Tigert Middle School.
We commend our Soda Springs Community Service Team for recognizing a need in their community, taking ownership of the issue, and using their resources to work towards a solution. This is what community service is all about… Great job!
We would like to thank the Sheriff Kelly Wells and the S.A.R.T Team for their cooperation and participation as well!
