Ongoing National Long Distance Issue

There has been an increase in the number of support calls regarding receiving long distance calls.  This situation is a known national issue, and not specific to Silver Star’s long distance service.

Many symptoms are associated with this issue; quality of long distance calls, lack of sound on called line, and hearing ringing but the called party hears nothing are some.

This situation is being monitored nationally with a variety of possible causes creating the problems including routing loops, improper call set up by some companies who do not have our code in their database, congestion on routes, etc., all of which are being investigated.

If you encounter this issue, we recommend requesting that the person trying to call you contact their long distance provider. We will advise of updates when we receive them, as we remain committed to providing the best service possible to our customers.
