Lifeline Service

There are provisions to assist low-income subscribers to obtain telephone service through Federal Programs that make funds available to qualifying individuals for local residential service and installation.

The Lifeline Program provides a credit line of the interstate Subscriber Line Charge assessed for each line and an additional $3.50 in monthly credit to be applied to qualified subscriber bills.

Through the Federal Link-Up Program, the Access Order Charge, Line Connection Charge and applicable Installation Charge for the installation of the main Local Exchange Access Service will be discounted at a rate of fifty (50%) percent, not to exceed $30.00. The remaining portion of the Service Charge may, at the end-user's option, be installments billed in equal increments over a three (3) year period.

Lifeline is available on Silver Star landlines and wireless phones.
